JAMES CAIRD VISITS THE WHYTE & MACKAY EARLS COURT BOAT SHOW
SHACKLETON'S BOAT ON DISPLAY FROM 1-9 DECEMBER
The James Caird, by permission of the Master and Governors of Dulwich College, will be displayed at the newly launched Whyte & Mackay Earls Court London Boat Show at the start of December.
The boat is seen as a major attraction of the Boat Show and will be displayed within the rowing boat section of the show, housed in Earls Court No.1 arena close to Pizza Express (a sponsor Shackleton would doubtless have nobbled had it existed in his day).
The James Caird will travel from Dulwich to the Boat Show in the last week of November and will first be seen at the official Press and Welcome Day on Friday 30 November.
The show will be open to the general public from Saturday 1 to Sunday 9 December inclusive. Hours of opening are 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily, with a special late opening till 9 p.m. on Thursday 6 December.
On the last day, Sunday 9 December, the show will finally close in the late afternoon, at 4.00 p.m.
